In honor of Sir Francis Chichester’s internationally renowned trip around the world in 1966, the silver dial features a map with the same route he conquered in the Gypsy Moth IV. Sailing below Australia, around the Southern tip of Africa and South America and in the treacherous warm waters off Africa required unending courage -- and this watch captures the spirit beautifully. With a distinctive shape and design, the Admiral’s Cup is a brave sailor’s watch through and through.
In lieu of run-of-the-mill hour markers, a colorful set of 12 nautical pennants surround the outer ring of the dial while 3 gold-toned luminous hands count Arabic numerals along the inside. Complimenting the pennants is a 12-sided 18K white gold case held in place by handsome brown leather straps. The crystal? Sapphire, of course, for the ultimate protection against scratches and scuffs while enduring the elements. And you’ll never need to wind this watch manually. It comes with an Automatic COSC certified movement that’s extremely accurate and reliable. No wonder the Admiral’s Cup is a favorite of Ben Ainslie, one of today’s greatest sailors and a four-time Olympic medal winner.
